The screen quality is not what it says. It's just a typical LCD screen that has a little more brightness than it's older predecessor. It does not have backlit keys and the keyboard lettering can't hardly be seen. The laptop feels cheap and fragile. I get worried when carrying it. Hard drive is not upgradeable. The battery life does not last as long as stated in the Sellers site. We ran tests using several programs and browsing the internet.

Overall, it is not designed for creative design. As stated it is good for home use, school kids and college students. Not good for traveling even though it is a little light and it is overpriced. We donated ours to a school. The camera is not as good as described but totally acceptable for an online class.

This version works well with zoom, can handle advanced features like virtual background. Set up was easy. Called hp for help. Takes very long time to get your money back. Be Aware!! Set up was a breeze. Screen size and keyboard are great. The price was great. I'm glad it's not a touchsceen. I had that feature on my last one and I would only recommend that if you really need it.

Brushing hair or lint off the screen always messed things up. So far this laptop has been awesome and just what i needed. Nice laptop except the keyboard has grey lettering on silver keys. Now who thought that was a good idea? Definitely not this customer. I contacted customer service who told me that the keyboard should be backlit but it is not.

Returned and ordered a Dell that I can read the keyboard. Will not even think about another HP as long as the keyboard is this color combination. Sad for a good computer to be hampered this way.

I use this product for work as a freelance writer, and prospective novelist. After being taken in by a laptop sold to me by some ignorgant salesperson at my local Best Buy please note that in other areas, I have had exceptional help and service at different Best Buy locations , I knew that I had to do my own research on what laptops were out there and what I needed.

This laptop arrived on time and packaged extremely well. Set up was a breeze and there was help, if I had needed it, through HP service installed in the laptop. I've been using it for several months now and I'm very satisfied with all aspects of this laptop and service through HP. I would recommend this laptop to anyone wanting to purchase it. I also recently recommended it to a friend of mine who is looking to purchase a reasonably priced laptop. I'd purchase it again myself.

I've had this product for about a month and really have no complaints. Boots up quick with no delay. It's too small. Also, I miss not having an indicator light showing when "caps lock" is on. It was. Totally invalid and useless. At least JW Geek responded promptly to my refund request and granted it without any hassle. Edition: Home Verified Purchase. I was building my first computer and bought this along with all the component parts. It took five days to arrive and I was very excited. I spent most of the day building the pc and then tried to install windows. Everything was fine until I had to activate windows. The key printed on the envelope was not being accepted.

I called customer service and was passed back and forth until I spoke to senior Microsoft tech support. I asked him how Microsoft could permit pirated products to be sold on such a well known website.

He had no explanation but said he constantly gets calls from amazon customers who received pirated micrisoft products. I offered to email him proof I purchased the software but he said they did not have the ability to access email.

How ridiculous is it that a major software company doesn't even give it's employees email accounts. I also told him I was a long term Microsoft customer with an xbox live subscription going back 7 years. He said it didn't matter and there was nothing he was willing to do.

The product was pirated and that is the bottom line. I told him I was going to write a review to inform people amazon sells pirated windows software.

He indicated that was a good idea. So there you go, I guess this poor review has Microsoft's seal of approval. Whatever you do don't buy this from amazon. Kudos to Amazon for making it right. Just installed this today on a pc I built for my son. After typing in the COA to activate Windows, it said my copy was not valid. Went to Microsoft tech support page and discovered my copy is possibly counterfeit. I will be filing a complaint with Amazon.

Buyer beware. I used this for a new system build. This comes in a sealed envelope with the install DVD and the activation code that you scratch off. The code worked as promised. The easy way to install Windows 10 on a new PC build: 1. Go to the Windows download website and download the installer tool. This will install Windows on your USB stick.

Plug in the USB stick to your new motherboard and it will be recognized as a bootable drive. Select the USB drive and boot.
